Faropen Art Trail 2024 - A Memorable Experience

July 2024

This year marked my first time joining FarOpen, the Forest of Dean's renowned open studios event. It was an exciting milestone, as I participated in the nine-day event held at the village hall in Blakeney.

The experience was a whirlwind of activity, filled with preparation, setup, and meeting so many wonderful visitors. It was incredibly rewarding but also exhausting—so much talking! People were genuinely curious about my process, my inspirations, and the stories behind my work. Sharing that with them was a joy, even if it left me utterly worn out by the end.

One of the best parts of the week was the sense of community. I had the pleasure of sharing the space with three incredibly talented artists: Paula Smith, Sara Ulyatt, and Sue Bamford. Not only did we support one another throughout the event, but we also shared laughs, inspiration, and the start of what I hope will be lasting friendships.
